Gulf Coast Guitars grew out of a longtime obsession with guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects, and the technology behind them. Based in Houston, Texas, we’re musicians, collectors, gear enthusiasts, and engineers who have spent years playing, buying, selling, comparing, modifying, and experimenting with musical equipment.
What started as a personal pursuit of interesting instruments and great tone naturally became a boutique operation focused on gear we genuinely find interesting — vintage pieces, unusual and discontinued models, modern boutique equipment, thoughtfully modified instruments, and the occasional oddball that simply does something special.
Musicians First. Engineers by Nature.
We approach gear as musicians first, but with an engineer’s curiosity about why it works. That means looking beyond the name on the headstock or faceplate and considering the entire system — instrument, pickups, electronics, effects, amplification, speakers, and ultimately the player.
We’re not trying to stock everything. We’d rather deal in equipment that has character, solves an interesting problem, represents an important design, or is simply very good at what it does.
